The ways to extend partitions on Windows

Have you met the situation where some files could not be stored in the appointed space because of partition space shortage when we stored important files on the computer where Windows operating system is installed? As to this problem, most users, I believe, have met it. Indeed, partition space shortage often occurs. When this situation occurs, we can not store important data in appointed space while storing them in other places will bring much inconvenience. Under this situation, is there a good way to solve this problem? Yes, of course. Extending the partition which is short of space is a good choice. However, how to extend the partition which is short of space?

The way to extend partitions under Windows
Maybe, most people think about using system built-in disk management tool when they need to extend partitions. However, it is difficult to extend partitions under Windows operating systems with their built-in disk management tool, and partition extension can not be accomplished under the operating systems released before Windows 7, because those operating systems built-in disk management tool does not have the function of extending partitions. Even under Windows 7 which has the function of extending partitions, it is also difficult for us to extend partitions. Users who have extended partitions with Windows 7 built-in disk management tool know this tool can not realize extending partitions under many situations. For example, there is no unallocated space adjacent to the partition which needs extending, and Windows 7 built-in disk management tool can not create the premise well. Actually, there is an easy way to extend partitions, namely using the third party partition magic. And this way is a widely used partition management method. To select partition magic, MiniTool Partition Wizard is recommended. This partition magic not only has all-sided functions but also has easy and reliable operations. Detailed information can be got from its official website http://www.partitionwizard.com/.

Extend partitions with MiniTool Partition Wizard
In fact, it is pretty easy to extend partitions with MiniTool Partition Wizard. Here, we take partition extending as an example when there is no unallocated space adjacent to the partition which needs extending.
Firstly, run MiniTool Partition Wizard to get its main interface.

The main interface shows the unallocated space is not adjacent to partition D. At this time, select partition E which is located between partition D and the unallocated space, and then click "Move/Resize" button to enter the next interface:

In the adjusting interface, interchange position of the partition and the unallocated space by dragging the partition handle rightwards, and then click "OK" to go back to the main interface.

From the above interface, we can see the unallocated space is neighboring to partition D which needs extending. Next, select partition D, and then click "Move/Resize" to extend the partition.

Here, drag the triangle neighboring to the unallocated space rightwards to lengthen partition handle to extend the partition, and then click "OK" to go back to the main interface.

The above main interface shows we have extended partitions successfully. However, this is just a preview, and we still need to click "Apply" to perform final operations.

From the above demonstration, we can see it is very convenient and effective to create premise for extending partitions and pretty easy and safe to extend partitions with MiniTool Partition Wizard. After owning this partition magic, we do not need to worry about being unable to extend partitions.
