How to retrieve photos from formatted drive?

We can retrieve formatted photos due to the existence of photo recovery software. No matter where the formatted photos were stored, USB flash drives, HDD, computers, memory cards or other kinds of storage mediums, they can be recovered easily unless they are overwritten. Therefore, after photos are formatted, we should not store any new data, or those photos may become unrecoverable. There is no completely free photo recovery software, but MiniTool Power Data Recovery provides 1GB free service, which is enough for most of the common users. Then we'll show how to retrieve formatted photos from computer.

We should download MiniTool Power Data Recovery from its official website and install it to the computer. Please don't install it to the partition where the formatted photos were stored; otherwise the formatted photos may be overwritten. Then launch MiniTool Power Data Recovery and we'll see its starting interface.

If you also want to recover other kinds of files like Word, TXT, you can use "Damaged Partition Recovery". But if you want to retrieve formatted photos only, I suggest "Digital Media Recovery" module, for it is earmarked for photo recovery, saving your inconveniec in filtering photos. Click the module and we'll see all partition in the computer.

Select the formatted partition and click "Full Scan" to scan it. Then all photos in this partition will be shown.

Please find and check the ones that you will recover and click "Save Files" to store them. Don't store them to the original partition because htey may overwrite some formatted photos. Store them to another partition and then you can transfer them to their original storage location after finishing recovery.

If you are using Mac, please try another photo recovery software - MiniTool Mac Data Recovery. All operations are also very simple.
